When parking on a hill car rolls back. Whenever a friend drives they notice immediately that the gas is very touchy, and usually why I don't let friends drive in the first place. The vehicle was taken to a dealer the codes where removed. During the test drive, the check engine light goes off and the car starts shifting properly again. The thing is loaded and adult owned. Automatic gearbox oil capacity: 2,5 liter.
While traveling 10 mph the contact noticed smoke coming from underneath the vehcile and it would no longer shift into first gear. My front wheels made it over the bump, but my car stalled and I was not able to at least coast my rear wheels over the bump. We bought it used and now our oldest is going to drive it away to college - so were on the look out for another. Had it checked the next day, there were apparently some battery connection problems, the shop finds no evidence of any transmission problem. Replaced ignition coils, mass air flow sensor, oxygen sensor, and spark plugs multiples times to try and fix the check engine light that keeps coming back on. The shift will not come out of park.
The dealer says the flywheel failed it is a dual-mass flywheel that I see sometimes fragments, damaging the housing or even the transmission. It's not my driving problem or my particular car's problem--it is a problem with all 2010 manual tdi clutch starts.
I've taken the battery to place of purchase and results were good and the battery is fine. Take care of this car, and it will last. Transmission must not be in fail-safe mode. Dual-mass flywheel's springs and absorption mechanism failed. Consumer took the vehicle to dealer to be repaired. I could live with the cosmetic issues, all things considered, but now I am out of work for the first time in my life and do not have the cash to pay for a costly re-build so I am stuck.
Dealer said that is standard. Consumer was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic could not resolve the problem. I am replacing about 4-5 lights per year on the rear of the vehicle. If I didn't tell him to hold off before giving up on it, it would be parted out. This problem has occurred several times. Automatic transmissions use solenoids to control shifts for a while now. But if you accept it I will make it happen as soon as my schedule allows.
This is a standard replacement at 200k. Discussion of this problem is often obfuscated by shame, denial and recriminations about drivers ability to adequately operate a manual trans and clutch. Transmission must not be in fail-safe mode. My wife's nerves will take a lot longer to fix!!!! I am about to get rid of this money pit! Don't believe vw people when they say the oil is for life there is no such a thing. Replaced flywheel, clutch lining, and rear main seal. Have taken to dealer 3 times since purchasing for same problem. Change it at 80K to 85K miles.
I noticed if you do not warm the car long enough, you have to press the brake pedal very hard to get it to stop. Friends have told me to trade it in but I just love driving the car too much. Dealer replaced electrical part called a valve body. Finding a buyer is usually the hard part but with the magic of the internet, you can see that people are already interested. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle would not move and the engine would not rev. On the downside it has a very tight engine compartment so alot of mechanics in my area don't want to work on it and the dealerships tend to be on the expensive side or you go in for one thing to be fixed and they find 5 other things that need to be repaired. Problem was identified as loose bolts on one of the half-shafts.

Please respond if you have any information. Is it cold where you are as vw transmissions really don't like the cold. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer to await repair. Eventually, the mil went on and there was a drastic loss of power. I have 2001 vw jetta automatic at 85k. She took the vehicle to another Volkswagen dealer and they gave her a list of all the failures.
