Just to lay out my thought on the subject. I called the dealer today and scheduled my next service for Thursday - the indicatator gave me 200 miles left as of this morning. Had 4000 miles when I got it has 14000 now. Also Id also definitely suggest using the bmw approved oils as others have stated. Only confimred that they did not work. My dealer was Report 1 Thanks for your thoughts and observations.
However, the information on this website is based on our best knowledge and the most objective research and analysis. Manual Transmission: Best case 30,000, worst case 50,000 miles Differential fluid: Best case 30,000, worst case 50,000 miles Drain and flush the coolant every two years. They made a major point that the engine is cold tested before the car is assembled and that engines are started for the first time at the end of the assembly line. Pay scales are different in different regions as are the property costs etc. And I do own a Honda. They seem to be a bunch of great folks - really professional attentive and personable.
They told me they were able to reproduce it and that the clutch needed to be replaced. That will put me at 43000. It only has 24000 miles and the next inspection Inspection 1 is not due for another 7500 miles according to the dash indicator. I plan on getting the car in to look I have 7000 miles on my road machine. The one thing that I of course want to do is take care of it and to the best of my ability.
The little finger on mine has weakened and broken off and leaves the light on all the time draining the battery. Since I purchased it from dealer will continue to get all the usual perks associated with service including a loaner and car wash when I take it in. Since these formulas are not transparent to most users, those who aren't as familiar with how these two indicators work can still get ballpark figures on when they need to do what service on the cars. Now theyre blaming it on the heat shield and now I am going back for the third time. Thats good information but reading the tech correspondance in Roundel is getting me pretty paranoid about bmws maintenance schedule and fluid change cycle. My dealer was pretty clueless when I scheduled Quote Originally Posted by Zuzax On the inside of console door between the seats there is a little finger of plastic that serves to turn off the light inside the console bin.
So now I need to replace both sides. Dave I pulled all my service records together yesterday and worked back from the Indy shop resetting my service indicator. I get there and they say its too early to go and look at it. My dealer was pretty clueless when I scheduled a service appointment for them to look at it so I want to have a picture of what it should look like since I cant count on them to have another E856 on the lot to show them. I tried RoyalPurple in the Zed's engine for 7000 miles but did not like the oil analysis report I got back from using it. BobbyB wrote:Thanks for sharing this, it definitely got me thinking. Some of the models on Autotrader are being listed in the low to mid 40s for a 2008 or 2007 M Coupe with less than 10K miles. Not a single thing wrong with it that I knew about for 3 months. If you can get the car on a ramp or up on ramps then have a look under yourself or buy some and save some money long term.
The oil-change places do that with an acrylic decal on the inside front corner of your windshield. It is easy to do so I'd say yes after 50-60000. Fast good looking reliable friendly service. What Does The Check Engine Light Mean? The problem with the ultra low mileage garage queen examples is that it's difficult to interpret the service schedule for cars that are rarely used. But, I am trying to find out what the maintenance intervals are for other items. At this point I am concerned but not yet panicked. Is there a way to see the miles remaining to the next recommended service interval? Additionally, its also for environmental reasons.
Just updating this Dipstick indicated oil level was fine. The Aux input side is very loose and hanging down just a wee bit. The little finger on mine has weakened and broken off and leaves the light on all the time draining the battery. So now I need to replace both sides. We are not directly at fault but will try to help if given the chance. A piece of masking tape and a Sharpie would accomplish the same thing. Took the vehicle in for an unrelated service tighten the handbrake and mentioned this light. They replaced the shifter knob apparently an 85 value for free. Finally whats in for my scheduled service at about 46K miles and asked them to check out the tranny since the clutch seemed to be slipping under hard acceleration shifting bewtween 4K and 5500 with the sport mode on.
