I ordered a new headlight switch. Without me able to physically inspect things, there isn't much else I can do for you. If this does not work, repeat procedure. Sometimes it's in a separate harness with accessory and and constant 12V, sometimes it's in the harness with the speaker wires. Repair the source, light will go out if that was the only problem.
Remove the cover of the underhood fuse box. Assuming you have a digital odometer, the dimming is most likely caused by one or more cracked solder joints on the circuit board that provides the power and information to the odometer display module. Disconnecting the battery can create other headaches and will not likely solve your dilemma. An open circuit will not burn nor smoke, but a short circuit will cause current to flow where it is not supposed to and burn up. You could also obtain a serviceable one from a salvage yard.
I think you will see several bulbs and I think it will be one of the ones toward the center. Clean the entire assembly with 100 % pure rubbing alcohol. A few seconds later heard the three tones and the sensor was reset. This should reveal the back of the panel circuit board. Don't get a hard on against it as it is a good thing once you understand it.
It will help u loctae the dash lights and the fuse box more readily. Then, attach the resistors one by one where the old ones used to be. You'll want to remove the old sauder before you put in the new resistores. When I turned on the car now the top of the dashboard where the gas gauge, odometer, etc is located lights up but the part where the Park, R, N, D, 1, 2 is at is really low. I saw it on youtube. Failure to correct the problem before resetting the system will damage the tire pressure monitoring system and cause it to not work correctly. I replaced them as well and then nothing worked. It comes off easily, it is held in place by three spring clips. Unclip the back of the instrument cluster and remove the circuit board. This is when the fumes from the gasoline are leaking from the system into the outside air.
