We take very good care of it as we can not afford to lose it since me and my wife both work days. This is a very serious problem where people could be killed. It is very easy to cause a crash and kill me. They extended the warranty and even recalled some so they better pull through. Well ever since that day the car has gone down hill.
However, from my research, it appears to be a current and ongoing issue with all Nissans with a cvt. From 2012 to 2018, several models of Nissan vehicles received the transmission, including the Sentra, Versa, Versa Note, Altima, Rogue, and Murano models. The last transmission also had an issue when complained the authorized service center said there was no issue. I want it to rev to the red line and then shift. While driving on a daily basis, the car would oddly pull.
I've since learned about how common this issue is for this year of car and find it unbelievable that a recall was never done on these cars. Dealer drove car and car didn't even make it out of their lot. The car only had 73,113 km and was just outside of the warranty period by a few months so it wasn't even 6 years old. I pay 2 visits at the dealership 1st visit : they made a road test, they said everything is normal - no error code. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. I've had no issues with the car until christmas eve. We have obviously had to make repairs here and there on it just like any vehicle.
Do anyone know all of the years transmission that will fit in a 2013. Over the past year, this transmission has been a public and personal safety hazard. About 5 miles from my home, the car began to rev and lose power so I pulled off the road for 5 minutes then slowly pulled off with my hazard lights on. He told us that was the best they can do for us. We had to rent a car dolly to tow it 77 Miles to Orr Nissan in Wichita, Ks. Nissan doesn't care, and they have no interest in making it right. Able to get off before passing exit and limped into nearby gas station.
I had two symptoms in regard of the transmission failure. You can stand behind your product better than this? They lost my business for ever. I called and talk to Eric, he offer to check our transmission at no charge. This has been a ongoing issue with Nissan vehicles dating back as far as 2012- 2017 why am I left without a car making payments and still they have not issue a recall on this problem. Nissans commitment: dear Nissan Sentra owner: Nissan is committed to providing the highest levels of product safety, quality and customer satisfaction. While driving to Massachusetts on route 84 the engine light came for the the first time the rmps began to bounce up and down, and the car would accelerate when not hitting the gas, and jerk, and slow down when I pushed on the gas pedal. Otherwise known as a continuously variable transmission, the feature was intended to increase the performance of vehicles by creating smoother gear shift capability.
Unless someone car get a class action lawsuit going, the only thing we can do is complain and complain a lot. I was told last week that I would have an answer on what was going to be done no later than today. I asked him if the transmission was brand new and he informed us it was. The Nissan dealership confirmed the transmission had failed, noting this is not uncommon with the Sentra. How much crap is that? Take your vehicle to the dealership if the transmission is still under warranty or the warranty on your vehicle was extended.
This car is not in bad shape and it is not that old. While accelerating from a red light, the accelerator pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The dealership charged me 4,109 dollars for the repair. The price tag was somewhere around 20-22 grand. I then contacted Nissan consumer affairs to notify them of the transmission failure and they advised to simply take it to the dealership for repair since it was outside of warranty.
I will be calling the service department tomorrow, and it better be covered! Rpms jumped up but was losing power and engine sounded horrible like metal on metal. I would like to know if I have a lemon case and what my rights are. I have not been able to work since, and have not been able to go to my medical appointments because of this situation. There has to be a fault with their transmissions. If I do not get justice, I too will be filing a lawsuit against the company.
