I got code 13 on my truck codes 13,14,15 are a failed module code. Fill it through the fill hole until fluid runs out. But check your 4wd fuses first. The hubs will not lock in. The 3 vac lines coming in to the switch are in a formed rubber fitting that keys to the tab on the switch top so hard to get wrong. Turn ignition switch to On position. If it does there is a problem in your front diff or some where else in the system.
With the case in 4Hi, you should not be able to spin the front driveshaft. But the lights are still flashing on the 4wdh and 4wdl buttons. I have tried spraying wd40 down the cable, however it appears that it is not in the cable, but something in the front diff. With the case in 2Hi, you should be able to spin the front driveshaft. It does not revert back to 2wd until the 2wd botton is pressed I let it flash for about 10min the night it started doing this. Abs brake system desigh is bad when working or not. The problem with the service information that I am referencing, is it gives no component location description or views.
The following bulletin may interest you if you need to replace the actuator. Substantially low resistance could indicate shorted windings, excessively high could indicate high resistance or open circuit. Check rock auto for interchange the astros S10 etc. Our 4 wheel drive are just not made for the abuse that a solid axle can handle. You can put all systems into Neutral by pushing the 2Hi and 4Lo button at the same time when the key is in the run position or running but not off or acc. Ive checked the 4wd system think the front actuator didnt release but all is fine there aswell as shaft disengagment.
At the actuator I am showing a two wire connector, a light blue wire and a black wire. Thanks, Steve Here was my problem. Only one problem with the technical description. The actuator is probably not going to move. I never got to install the front driveshaft sensor. I can hear the switchs or relays in the dash when the 4wd bottons are pressed but I havn't went into the dash and checked them.
Now alittle while ago I started the truck and shut it off immediatly and the truck didnt start again. Could this be a bad switch that needs to be replaced with one from motormite? Pull the front axle actuator. If anyone wants it I would be happy to mail it to them. If so, repair open in Brown wire between convenience center and transfer case switch. From there it does not go to a vacuum switch, but to a line near the transmission on the passenger side. The only other caviat to that is that if in Auto4wd, it will switch back to 2wd.
I can bearly see the 2wd flash before all three light flash. Sometimes the system works just fine and others. That switch actually sends the message to the transfer case control module. If not and they are automatic locking and they are probably blown or seized into the unlock position. I've looked everywhere, but I can't find anything about it. Can anyone tell me, send a pic or video, or something to locate it? Anyone else have this problem? Also a fuse should be ruled out since Im getting 12volts out of the actuator plug, correct? Check engine light still coming on with same code. Changed plugs, Wires and coil packs.
Here is how to check the soliniode dump valve. Remove T-case 20 amp fuse. Saw another clunker sitting there with the 4 button T case, but it wasn't out in the yard yet. Disconnect the wires, and pull the actuator. It just continues to blink. More info and testing instructions on ActuatorPumpRepair. If not and all hoses are good the diaphragm may be leaking on the actuator.
Re-install fuse then re-try operation. Now for the million dollar question. Should I get the truck on a lift and make sure my front drive shaft is spining when I engage the 4wheel drive? I had the 4x4 engaged 10 days ago and it worked fine. If not, replace transfer case switch.
The pattern is 3 short blinks and 1 long blink. Has two wires connected to it, and a big hex. Jan 05, 2010 when you replaced the module did you notice any corrosion in the connector green powder also check the connector at the encoder motor high resistance in the wiring will cause it not to get the right information if the wiring is good try a switch hope this helps you good luck let me know Nov 12, 2009. I replaced the actuater and still no luck. If test light lights, replace front axle solenoid and proceed to next step.
